Broadcaster.com featured an interview with Richard Stursberg, Vice-President of English Services at the CBC, this week. Really nothing all that new — basically the same arguments and explanations as we’ve heard, but, for the record, a brief summary of the interview is after the jump, below. Plans For Radio 2 We are attempting to broaden the musical mix available on Radio 2. Everyone likes the intelligence & the quality of the station, but the content will be broadened outside of class
Shooting at 23rd and Jackson

Police have responded to a shooting at 23rd and Jackson where, according to an SPD spokesman, "Somebody was] screaming that they had been shot." ...more details coming. UPDATE: Police have someone in custody. Still working on getting more details. UPDATE 2: SPD received a call from the victim, who said they had been shot. According to SPD, the victim was shot in the neck and is being treated at the scene.

Months ago while sitting in a restaurant next to two gentleman having a conversation about Al Gore and how great he was this and that I asked a very simple question that led to rage. That tattoo-esque logo right there is for The TRADE, a new bar opening on Friday, May 9, in the same building as gay bar the Complex Nightclub (3515 Chouteau; 314-772-2645). Occupying a ground-level space that's been vacant for about a year-and-a-half, the 125-person-capacity bar is described by its proprietors as "tattoos and rock & roll." Wow. Our community has been given quite an accolade. The Oil Drum was recently ranked by Nielsen as the #4 sustainability site on the web (behind TreeHugger, WorldChanging, and Biopact). Biopact has a nice article on the report, which can be found here and from which the graphic below is duly appropriated.
